One Covenant Pastors Idea on Fighting Global Poverty

Talk about putting his money where his mouth is....Eugene Cho (a Covenant Pastor on the West coast) is putting up his salary next year to start this organization with the goal of 100% of all funds raised to go to fight poverty and the problems associated with it.

In my own thoughts...Its hard to spread God's word if you can't feed them or they cant every survive to hear it. Love the Lord God with your whole heart and your neighbor as yourself. Not social gospel but holistic gospel.

My only thought or worry about this movement towards social justice we have seen in the last number of years is that it could easily become a fad. I pray that it does not. Lets face it, being green is hip. I pray that this movement would be more then hip and it would be seen as a part of God's mission that encourages not just clean drinking water but living water that quenches souls and not just living water for the soul but clean drinking water for the body, catch my jive? My desire, that the two would become inseparable. As believers were called to a both and life style, not an either or. more on this later....

way to go Eugene, I appreciate you articulate thoughtfulness in this endevor!
