Last weekend I returned to Connecticut for the East Coast Annual meeting. It had been by second trip there in the last few months as a month or so back I was commissioned as a minister. (pretty excited about that) The conference miniserium was a very fascinating multi day session on church vitality. The speaker was great, the trip and time learning was a great change of pace but what it always the most inspiring is just plain hanging out with a large room full of people who do what you do and desperately want to share the gospel and lead congregations in their walks.
Friday night I then had the privilege of helping lead worship at Bethany Covenant church. The awesome thing was the diversity of the team. As I mentioned to Katie Martinez over email for the denominational report, everyone came from different churches, ethnic groups, ages, styles of worship, yet it all blended beautifully and God was praised. Over and over I continue to be blessed and impressed with the Covenant even after being involved with it for several years now, its diversity is intentional and real, not forced or ackward.
Its an exciting time for the East Coast Covenant churches....
