I received a phone call from my mom today!
The doctors have narrowed down the "potential" 1800 mathces for my dad's stem cell procedure and have found a 20 year old male who matches my father's type (10 out of 10)... meaning in all the ways someone could match my dad, this 20 year old is a "perfect" match!
This is rare and fantastic news! The doctors want to move this process along asap. My parents are needing to make numeros doctor appoitments to make sure my dad is in the "clear" before undergoing such a serious procedure. Their home will need a professional deep cleaned, to provide a sanitized environment for my dad's recovery at home that will take 6 months to a year of isolation. Our family cat Oreo of 16 years will need to be adopted out to allow for a serile environment.
Last night my parents drove down from Boston to attend a Prayer and Healing service that Christ Church has every tuesday night. It was a powerful time to be vulnerable with each other, pray, and reflect on how much we need Jesus and His healing hand to intervene on my dad's behalf. My dad was annointed with oil and we layed hands on him for prayer after Communion.
It's is funny... my prayers for my father have been simple but straight forward. God tells us we can ask. So like I have said in previous blogs... I ask for healing for my dad everyday.
Last night during the laying on of hands and tears streaming down all of our faces, I thanked God for His perfect design and prayed that God would "make right" my fathers body... I asked God to "make right" his bone marrow that is not performing and functioning correctly.
I asked in Jesus's powerful name that healing would flood my father's body and that he would have the strength, stamina and youthfullness OF A 20 YEAR OLD....
I had goose bumps when my mom called this afternoon with the news that that doctors had found a 20 year old male (who was added to the stem cell bank in July!) was my dad's perfect match!
Perhaps in God's timing this willing 20 year old male along with God's healing mercy and intervention will "HEAL" my father.
Thank you for your continued prayers. Praise be to God!
